Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy:

You have the right to cancel your booking at any time. All cancellations must be made in writing by the person who has made the booking. All tickets, vouchers or coupons issued, must all be returned when cancelling any booking.

Name changes or substituting alternative dates for booking a different cruise constitutes as cancellation.

Refunds in case of cancellation beyond the control of Churchill Cruises Ltd:

Expedition cruises are just what the name implies, meaning that these cruises are expedition cruises by the nature of the cruise. Weather conditions, regulatory requirements, and/or other conditions beyond the control of Churchill Cruises could make a departure necessary from the published itinerary. Churchill Cruises and its partner Albatros Expeditions, our vendors, or sub-contractors and their employees will attempt to stick to the itinerary as close to as is reasonable and feasibly possible. No refunds will be offered for any such deviations, or departures from the published schedule. Without limitations, some examples of the reasons that could make a departure necessary from the published dates and timings are: safety and security of the vessel and its officers, crew and passengers; diverting the vessel to save a ship, or person in distress; weather conditions, strikes, or acts of hostilities, civil unrest; port closures; late arrival/departure of airline and passengers; emergency disembarking of passengers in a medical emergency, or any other reason that the master of the vessel considers necessary for the safe operation of the vessel and completion of this itinerary.

Passengers electing to cancel for any of the above reasons will be subject to this cancellation policy and charges given below.

Other reasons for cancellation of voyage:

Any number of unforeseen circumstances could force Churchill Cruises and its partner Albatros Expeditions, our vendors, or sub-contractors and their employees to cancel the voyage, or part of the voyage or excursions included in the passage ticket. Without limitations, these could be due to accidents, fire, collision or other reasons prior to the commencement of the voyage that cannot be predicted. Churchill Cruises and its partner Albatros Expeditions will in such cases will attempt to the best of their ability to resolve the issue by substituting another vessel, offering other cruises from their itineraries or, discounts for future voyages.

The passenger accepts that the maximum liability in such cases will be limited to the refund of full passage money paid by the passenger for all such cases and waives all rights to any &/all other claims against Churchill cruises and its partners, vendors and sub-contractors.

Cancellation Charges, fees and penalties:

The following penalties will apply to all cancellations made after booking a cruise:

  • Premium suite: No refunds

  • Other categories:

    • 121 days or more before departure: 25% of full fare, or deposit amount whichever is greater will be forfeited.

    • 120 – 91 days before departure: 50 percent of the full fare in the category booked, will be forfeited

    • 90 days – 61 days before departure: 75 percent of the full fare in the category booked, will be forfeited

    • 60 days, or less: No refunds

  • Passengers are expected to arrive at Gateway airports (Winnipeg International airport in Canada, or Copenhagen in Denmark), well in time to make the connections to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, or to Churchill, Manitoba as the case may be with individual bookings. Failing to arrive on time to make the connections will be considered as a cancellation. No refunds will be given in such cases

  • Name changes or substitution of a different cruise constitutes as cancellation and are subject to penalties described above

  • Spelling correction, may at the discretion of Churchill Cruises, constitute as a cancellation subject to penalties described above.

  • No refunds, or credit for future use will be given for No -Shows, or cancellations made after the cruise has commenced

  • No refunds will be given in the event a passenger misses any activity or shore excursions included in the package

  • No refunds will be given for optional tours that the passenger books with 3rd party vendors

  • No refunds will be given for shore excursions and activities, or optional tours booked by the passengers

  • No refunds will be given for meals, wine, beer or onboard facilities and/or, activities not utilized by the passenger

Children onboard:

Children from ages 2- 12 must be accompanied by their parent and must share the same cabin. Children 12 years and older may choose to stay in separate cabins. Children pay the same fare depending on the category of room booked.

Refund processing time and method of refund:

Allow 3 to 4 weeks, from the day we receive your request in writing, for your refund to be applied. Refund will be applied to the same credit card with which the booking was made. Depending on the booking and request for cancellation, refund may be paid to your travel agent who booked the cruise.
